INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY 11
This course introduces students to computers and their applications. Computers are an integral part of every industry in today’s world. This course is designed to introduce students to computer hardware, application software and system software. Computer programming and networking will be introduced along with internet access techniques, web page design, multimedia and telecommunications. Students with a wide range of computer skills will be accommodated in this course. We will also examine the social impact and implications of computers in the world. Many programs are explored in this course including a few components of Adobe’s Master Collection. The year ends with the students programming an online computer game. There are no pre-requisites for this course. Space is limited.

Extending the topics of Information Technology 11, this course focuses on programming, networking and other advanced system and application topics. System design and maintenance will be examined , as well as advanced programming techniques and algorithms in a high-level programming language. Use of and programming for the internet will be examined along with the web site development, a skill that is vital for just about any business in today’s world. Students will explore the front-end and back-end of websites. Many programs are explored in this course including most of the components of Adobe’s Master Collection. They will learn the importance of the balance between visual impact and practical information. PREREQUISITE—ICT 11
